Are you retaining your members?
As all gym owners know it’s much easier to keep a member coming back than finding new members. So, how exactly do you keep a member interested in your club? Here are a couple of tips to help you retain your members throughout the year.
Make Your Members Feel Like They Belong:
Every member that walks through your doors wants to feel connected and part of a culture. When they walk into your club welcome your members by their first name, know something about their personal life (Such as their family, hobby, or business) and chat with them. Use photos in the Front Desk check-In system to help you out. Andrea Metcalf, Lifetime Fitness expert, suggest making a contest with your employees and post 50 members’ pictures on a board at your next staff meeting. Have all employees write down their names on a corresponding paper and give prizes out to the employee who gets the most right answers.
Know The Needs of Your Members:
It’s a well-known fact that many people are scared of joining a health club because they can barely do one pushup. For these clients, having a simple questionnaire to help guide them through the gym experience can be a great idea. This questionnaire can give you insights on a members starting point. You can help direct them to the right classes through your class schedule module. Offer on-going communications to make sure you are meeting their needs with a follow-up email.
